Letter of complaint

Exercise 1

1. Last year we did not have any serious complaints from our clients, but this
year we have already received over twenty.

2. This is not the first time that we have had problems with the shipping
company. Three months ago they lost a consignment completely and they still have not
found out what happened to it.

3. I have looked into the problem, and it appears that the catalogue was out of date.

4. I received a consignment of furniture from you last week which we ordered on May 12.

5. The error was due to a fault in the computer system which we have now put right.

6. Our engineers have recently found a fault with the batch of hard disk drivers
that we manufactured in June and July last year.

7. I am writing to apologise for the defective items you received last month,
and to inform you that we have credited the sum of 342.67 pounds to your
account.

8. Our accounts department has informed me that we have not yet received payment for
the
items we sent .

9. We have not had any business from Winford & Co. since we made an error with an
invoice.

10. We have lost a number of orders since we started having problems with the
switchboard.
