Exercise 1 1. Incoming calls to our firm are taken by the switchboard operator , who will put you through to the extension your require. 2. To make a call by IDD/international direct dialling from the UK : first dial the international code (010), then the country code, then the area code (US)/dialling code (GB) and finally the number you require. 9.
